Thematic Results Area: Democratic Governance, Human Rights and Gender Equality

The recently launched United Nations Development Assistance Plan (2016-2021) (UNDAP II) aims to achieve 12 Programme Outcomes which can be grouped into four Thematic Results Areas. Among those is Democratic Governance, Human Rights and Gender Equality which is concerned with helping the government continue to bring about a Tanzania that engages in fair and democratic processes that ensure justice for all and encourages the participation of women in politics and other areas of society.

UNDAP II Outcomes for Democratic Governance, Human Rights and Gender Equality:

Democratic Governance, Human Rights and Gender Equality: National governance that is more effective, transparent, accountable and inclusive.

Women’s Political Participation and Leadership: Women and girls increasingly participate in political and public life and are elected to leadership.

Violence Against Women and Children: Enhanced prevention of and response to violence against women and children.
